Dear Members,


Some update on the venue for our seminar 27-29th July in Hong Kong.

  • Seminar will be hosted in the Sports Hall of Kellett School at G/F
  • IKGA Asian Bloc Annual Congress will be hosted in room no. 2210 on 2/F of Kellett School at 5:00 pm on 27th July.
  • Room 2210 will be served as rest room for Shihan on 28th & 29th July
  • Registration on 27th July will be at Gymnasium adjacent to Sports Hall on the G/F
  • Due to renovation of changing rooms in Kellett School, Male changing room will be in Gymnasium adjacent to Sports Hall on the G/F. Female members can use the female rest room at G/F for changing. There will be signage to guide you.

Dear IKGA Asia Bloc Branch Chiefs and Representatives,


We write to provide you with an update of the event and certain useful information upon your arrival in Hong Kong.


Registration

The registration will take place at 3pm to 5 pm on Friday, 27th July at the Sports Hall of Kellett School.

One representative from each Country/Branch should register on behalf of their team.

Please bring along the IKGA membership card of every participant and the required fees in cash in US dollars or HK dollars for registration.

For security reason, all participants are required to carry their IKGA membership card during the seminar day on 28th to 29th July.


IKGA Asia Bloc Annual Congress

The Congress will be chaired by Headquarter at Kellett School at 5pm to 6 pm on Friday, 27th July. Same place of the registration.

Please have a maximum of two representatives attend this Congress on behalf of your Country/Branch.


Welcome dinner

The welcome dinner is by invitation only, Saiko Shihan invites 2 person from each Country/Branch to join the welcome dinner. Additional participants are welcome at USD80 per person and please inform the organizing committee asap.

IKGA membership card

This is an official IKGA event, all participants for this seminar have to be a members of IKGA and presentation of valid 2018 IKGA membership card are mandatory. If you are not holding an up-to-date IKGA membership card, please urgently approach Headquarter to arrange it.


Access to venues

Venue of the seminar : Kellett School, 7 Lam Hing Street, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Our seminar will be held in the Sports Hall.

Best way to travel there is to take the MTR to Kowloon Bay Station, walk through the shopping mall (Telford Plaza) towards Lam Hing Street, Kowloon Bay area. You will need approximately 10 minute walk from Kowloon Bay station. There is a taxi stand at Telford Plaza and you can take a taxi to go the Kellett School at Lam Hing Street, but it may take you more time than walking there.


Venue of welcome dinner : Lei Garden, Unit F2, Telford Plaza Kowloon Bay, Kowloon, Hong Kong.

This is inside Telford Plaza 1 adjacent to MTR Kowloon Bay Station

For those staying at Camlux Hotel, Kellett School and Telford Plaza/ MTR Kowloon Bay Station are within walking distance.


Venue of the grading examination : Dojo of IKGA Hong Kong Branch. 3/F, No. 1 Anton Street, Wanchai, Hong Kong.

Best way to travel is by MTR to Admiralty Station and walk underground towards Pacific Place Three (PP3), our Dojo is in Anton Street which is 80 metres opposite exit of PP3


Changing room and your belongings

Changing rooms and toilets for male and female are available in Kellett School. However, the changing rooms are not gear to accommodate more than 200 people at the same time. It is recommended that we arrive slightly earlier to avoid congestion. Please be reminded to take care of your own belongings and to place your shoes in a shoe bag when you enter the Sports Hall during the seminar sessions. A designated area will be allocated for their storage. However, the Organizing Committee does not accept responsibilities of their safe keeping.


Break and lunch during the seminar

We will have break in between our training sessions. As the canteen at the venue is closed for Summer holidays, no lunch, drinks or snacks can be served during our breaks. Our morning and afternoon break is for 15 minutes, so we have insufficient time to go out for drinks and snack. It is recommended that you bring along your own drink. Food is prohibited inside the Sports Hall of Kellett School. However, you can bring and consume snacks outside the Sports Hall. In that case, please keep the place clean and leave no garbage in the venue.

Our lunch break is for one and a half hour. There are plenty of restaurants around the area, the nearest are in Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Centre, Telford Plaza and Megabox, all are within 5 to 15 minutes walking distance. Please be aware that some of those small restaurants may not take credit card.

Dan Grading examination

Dan Grading examination will be hosted by IKGA Headquarter in the Dojo of IKGA Hong Kong Branch in the morning of Monday, 30th July.

Application of the dan grading examination must be sent to IKGA Headquarter by the Director/Dojo Chief of your Country/Branch. Please make sure that your application forms have been duly received by Headquarter.


Weather

Weather in Hong Kong in July are hot and humid. Temperature around 30-33°C with humidity up to 90%

Bringing a small umbrella with you is advisable in case it rains.

Summer is the typhoon season in Hong Kong, in case of Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is in force during our seminar we may have to consider alternative arrangement or to cancel certain sessions of the seminar at last minute.


Security and Insurance

Hong Kong is a very safe place for travel, however, Kellett School has security measure on access to the School and require our participants to carry our IKGA membership card during our visit at the School.

Traveling insurance is highly recommended for your trip to Hong Kong.
